Parent and Family Weekend

PFA Members will receive invitation and early registration opportunities for next year's event, as well as discounted prices on the events.

Friday, October 11th

11AM-2PM - Take Your Parent to Lunch 
The Commons and Stingers Dining Halls

Join your student for lunch at either one of our dining halls, and experience the 5th best dining program in the nation!

4PM-8PM - Family Weekend Welcome Reception

Embassy Suites Kennesaw Ballrooms

Come grab your materials for the weekend, get your Friday night giveaway, meet incredible KSU alumni, mingle with campus partners, enjoy live music, visit our top of the line photo booth (free photo prints!), AND get some delicious food and beverages from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

7PM - KSU vs. North Alabama Family Weekend Volleyball Game - FREE

Convocation Center

Join us for the Family Weekend Volleyball Game! Our team has been killing it on the courts - you'll have a blast cheering on the Owls!

8PM - Homecoming Bonfire - FREE

Marietta Campus - Field between Howell Hall and Norton Hall

Want to get in the Homecoming spirit? Join your student on the Marietta Campus for the Homecoming Pep Rally and Bonfire! Food will be available to purchase via food trucks at the event. 

8PM - The Georgia Players Guild Presents The Music Of: Pink Floyd - Tickets available for purchase at the link below!

Strand Theater - Marietta Square

Presented by S. A. White Oil, The Georgia Players Guild is back at the Strand to honor the works of the Iconic rock band Pink Floyd! 

Relive your favorite classic songs like “Money”, “Another Brick in the Wall” and “Comfortably Numb” as you remember them note-for-note by an all star cast of musicians!  This show features Marietta’s own Travis Cottle, Chad Yochum and Kevin Sanders as well as other GPG regulars like Jacob Deaton, Kevin Scott, Danny Paschall and Robert Highsmith! 

Saturday, October 12th

9:30AM - 10:30AM -Doughnuts with Directors - FREE

University Village, Town Hall (ARC), and Marietta Housing Office (Building R10)

If your student lives on campus, you'll definitely want to stop by 'Doughnuts with Directors'. Representatives from Campus Services and Housing and Residence Life will be hosting some light bites and coffee to get to know you and your resident.

10AM - 5PM - Marietta Chalktoberfest

Marietta Square

The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is proud to present Chalktoberfest, an exciting combination of our annual Chalk Art Festival with our Craft Beer Festival.

Enjoy your afternoon sampling craft beers, live music from local artists, watching professional Chalk Artists chalk the streets and eating great food at the beautiful downtown square of Marietta. A great day out for all the family, the Chalk Fest is free to attend. All proceeds go to the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. (Don’t forget to check out our PFA Benefit Partners on the Marietta Square - RocketFizz and The Local Exchange!)

12PM - Owl Town Tailgate Opens 

Near Fifth Third Bank Stadium-Soccer Field near The Perch

Fans can get ready for gameday with Owl Town, a free tailgate to the public that begins three hours prior to kickoff. Located at the Owls Nest, which is off Busbee Dr. and across from the Gold Lot, Owl Town provides a fun and festive atmosphere for all ages. Every edition of Owl Town features live music, a variety of vendors, and there will be inflatable fun for children. Be sure to arrive early because thanks to J.D.'s Bar-B-Que, Owl Town has free food to the first 200 fans! Alcohol, soft drinks, and water will be available for sale.

12:45 PM - Homecoming Parade - FREE

Begins at the KSU Center and ends at The Perch

Come out and see the Homecoming Parade featuring the Marching Owls, floats, the Homecoming Court, and more. Parade Route

 1PM - Owl Walk - FREE

Fifth Third Bank Stadium

Come cheer on the KSU Football Team as they enter the stadium before getting warmed up to take on Charleston Southern! 

2:30PM - VIP Viewing Experience Opens for the KSU vs Charleston Southern Football Game

Fifth Third Bank Stadium

Guests who have purchased a Family Weekend package will be able to enter the VIP Viewing Experience to cheer on the Owls, grab their food, drinks, and spirit giveaways. We will be giving an award to the Most Spirited Parent and the Most Spirited Sibling, so make sure you get ready to cheer on the Owls during the Homecoming Gold Out!

Sundown - 'Hocus Pocus' showing in City of Kennesaw - FREE

Swift-Cantrell Park 

Bring a blanket and join the City of Kennesaw for a showing of the Halloween Classic Hocus Pocus (rated PG). Watch the movie under the stars on the giant inflatable screen in Swift-Cantrell Park.

Join Parent and Family Programs at our annual Family Weekend Brunch. You'll enjoy a delicious brunch catered by Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, our keynote speaker Michael Coles, our No Taste Like Home Celebration, live music, remarks from around the university, and time to get to know other KSU families!

JC Penny at Town Center Mall

Shop select career dress apparel with an extra discount! This is a great opportunity to get everything you need to finish your look for that next interview or job fair - including suits, dresses, sport coats, dress pants, shoes, and accessories. There will be giveaways and prizes, as well as a free mini makeover from the Sephora inside JCPenney. Students must show ID to get discount.
